What it solves
WhatsApp Web is built for conversation, not for translation, contact notes, or reusable replies. WAMofa adds those tools on top of the official web client without sending chat history to a third-party host.
Who it is for
People who use WhatsApp Web for work: multilingual conversations, repeat replies, and lightweight client notes that should stay on the local machine.
Why it exists
Translation and CRM add-ons often upload conversations or automate bulk sending. WAMofa stays in the browser, uses the official web.whatsapp.com/send contact links, and keeps notes, tags, and templates in local extension storage.
Key capabilities
- Translate message pairs and compose translated replies with a preview before sending
- Quick-reply templates with keyboard shortcuts
- Local contact notes, tags, and first/last contact timestamps
- Voice-message transcription through a configured speech model
- Official WhatsApp Web send links for opening a chat by phone number
- Chrome and Firefox Manifest V3 builds
Engineering notes
WAMofa is an MIT-licensed browser extension written in TypeScript and React with WXT. Notes, tags, templates, and translation history stay in chrome.storage.local. Provider API keys are read only by the extension background worker. The project is independent software and is not affiliated with WhatsApp.
